Live Cattle (December)

December live cattle had a constructive week, fundamentally and technically speaking. Cash trade picked up to 130-132 in the North and 130 in the South. These are the positive developments the Bulls need to continue to see, to help get the “funds” excited about being long this market. According to Friday’s Commitments of Traders report, Managed Money is only long about 34,000 contracts. This is a drop in the bucket and considered a very neutral position. If the Bulls can chew through technical resistance with some conviction and the fundamentals continue to firm, we could see a bigger rally. Feeder Cattle (January)

January feeder cattle finished Friday’s session with new closing highs for the week, putting them up 3.475 for the week. Resistance comes in from 161.00-161.225. Just above that is the October highs and 100-day moving average, 162.40-163.125. Lean Hogs (December)

December lean hog futures were lower on Friday but managed to mark a positive close for the week, up .475. We remain upbeat on Lean hogs but cautioned on Thursday in our interview with RFD-TV that we want to see.....Click here to get our (FULL) daily reports emailed to you!
